Bodyweight

Bodyweight training means that rather than overcoming an external resistance such as a dumbbell while you stay still, your own body acts as the weight and you push or pull against an immovable object to move yourself through space.

Movements such as walking lunges and pull ups not only strengthen and tone your arms, legs and core muscles but improve balance, co-ordination and joint stability.

Our challenging bodyweight circuits can be tailored to suit all levels. Beginners can start with assisted pull ups, press ups on the knees and air squats, advanced athletes can expect to have to perform l-sit pull ups, handstand press ups and single leg squats!

" Already running for a club I wanted to find something that was going to improve my times and build up both my combined strength and fitness, areas I was lacking in when I raced. In the space of a couple of months, by just adding one session of GPP per week, in addition to my running training, I have knocked 1 minute 40 seconds off my 5 mile race time and am now aiming to do a sub 41 minute 10k, 5 minutes faster than I have ever done it previously. It’s also much better than going to a normal gym! "
